their BUS “service” Train...ing & being RAIDED by the Bizzies..

in Previous chapter mention of the “bus service” using the latter description makes me smile.. the station staff , the (no ) information office staff, the drivers & ticket collector (conductors?) ALL seem to act as IF they are doing you, the unruly passenger, a HUGE “service”just letting you pay to be on their bus…

 

one exception from  Herceg Novi, (HN ) to Podgorica (Pg) , the Alo express , the other day, the driver was almost pleasantly chatty wih passengers & took a short cut (via top hill, Budva) to cut out the heavy tourist traffic…

 

that VERY day, though, the mid-day bus “conductor” from got ANGRY with me!  Why? After 3 hours on the bus, an hour late, BTW, with another hour expected before arrival …? I dared ATTEMPT to use the toilet on the bus,

 

I recall from every other bus journey through monty (even the 12 hour international trips) the toilet was “off limits” clearly the buss crew didnt want to have to deal with passenger use, and usually used it as storage or for transport of their own “contraband”…

 

“My republic – man” and I were talking about trains, , as I enjoyed the good food tortilla & natural fresh juices , as I took a day out from meagre budget… (that evening I talked about TRAINING kids , I hope this winter , as they only have summer tournaments where I am as I write this,,, (a sort of nomad stratetgist manager, now)  as he said, most of the trains are old enough to be from the time of TITO, (Podgorica was his favourite city of the Ex Jugo region, it was called TITOGRAD!) …

 

they bought a couple of new ones, but most of the trains (and track, with often a single line, meaning you have to wait for trains to pass through a staton to continue) are in need of maintenance, but “monty -culture” just waits until something breaks , then fixes it, (and you mayWAIT too, if you are unlucky to be on  a train at the time) yesterday the joourney of 2 ½ hours took another hour, as we sat in the train for at least 30/40 minutes in 35c heat, no wind or breeze, the locals are like big kids though, they fidget ..cant sit still for more than 5 mins…

 

I was on a “stopping train” calling at every little hut through the mountains.. mind you even the “international trains” seem to stop at every other one, too..and evn if you could see the station names from your seat, the windows are so dirty that you cant! I looked up at the light , when we tunnelled, and  it was GREY , not white , light.. probably NEVER ever cleaned, and in these mad days of mobile tech, NOT one of the station clocks was showing the correct timer,

 

I had to smile to myself.. had a tinge of sympathy for the nice lady, quite attractive sitting opposite, she told me, surprisingly in english , that she had missed her stop, and must stay on the train & go back, she had been on her mobile mot of the journey, she was probably a monty-knee-grinner...i was tempted, as they had glanced at me a few times, but she was wearing  a wedding ring..i should have asked for her phone number, shame she waited until I was leaving the compartment (as I helped her luggage down from the rack, to speak to me… there you go, but after a good day..i dont want to complain about a “possible missed chance”  I must push the winter footy team with “MESSko “ & co...

 

 

I had hoped to deliver the claim ref SJ/ML  to “Angela” at REd x  Pg but the neighbour told me they are "at the beach"..until 21 august...too bad for “Murphy” and his S.O.S status????

“him “ of  Rep GF & I smiled how a local nughty wife kept looking over to me in the restaurant as I check out the laptop...with her (younger?) BF...”HIM” told me she is married with kids, I said, anyway unwise because “the Monty-village People, know everyone, or they know someone who knows you…!

 

of course there was also the time when I was based in Freiburg (“black forest city”) ...
